About ME

Rani McMurran

After experiencing first-hand what electrolysis did to my own confidence and well-being, I knew I wanted to spread the word and help others experience a new freedom. It was a transforming moment for me. Soon after I enrolled on an Electrolysis Training Programme and became qualified in Advanced Cosmetic Procedures including facial electrotherapy and superficial cosmetic lesions. In 2002 I enrolled at my local college and gained my Further Education Training Certificate supporting students in realising their own Electrolysis journey.

In 2003 I opened my private practice offering a range of clinical therapy with an emphasis on electrolysis hair removal and cosmetic lesion removal and reduction. More recently, I’ve been appointed by NHS England as their regional Transgender patient specialist. My enrolment and certification and service as a Board Member with the British Institute and Association of Electrolysists (BIAE) followed closely behind.

BIAE ACCREDITED ELECTROLOGIST

Membership to the BIAE is only awarded upon passing extensive written and practical exams, ensuring the highest standards of working practices and skills as an electrologist.

ELECTROLYSIS  vs. LASER

Below are key facts and differences between Electrolysis and Laser.

It is critical information that must be understood before making a decision for treatment.

Electrolysis is guaranteed hair removal

Electrolysis is over 150 years old, it is medically approved by the British Medical Association (BMA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as the only permanent solution to hair removal.

No other method can make this claim.

Electrolysis works on all skin & hair types irrespective of colour. It is used on all parts of the body including the face, arms, hands, feet, legs, back, abdomen, intimate areas and more.

Laser does not remove hair permanently.

It only reduces the appearance, by putting the hair follicle to sleep. The hair can be woken at a later stage, requiring life long top-ups.

Laser-induced hair growth is when the heat energy from the laser itself actually stimulates the surrounding tissues to grow more hair and is often unpredictable.

Over 50% of my clients have turned to electrolysis because laser has failed them.

The most Popular question

How long does electrolysis take?

This is my most common question. The average hair takes 13 weeks to form, grow, change and shed. In order to gain complete clearance every hair has to be treated at least once. Due to individual differences in healing time, skin and hair type and financial/time constraints, this will vary from person to person. Electrolysis works on treating one hair at a time and is a process, it may take longer on large areas, e.g. legs, compared to smaller areas, like the upper lip. Once the course of treatment is completed the hair removal is permanent, with lifelong lasting results for every single client.

TRANSGENDER

Transgender Electrolysis

As a Transgender person, wether your taking your first tentative steps or you are already on your journey, the challenges are all consuming. I am here to support you, and feel more confident when it comes to taking your first pre-operative steps to transitioning.

Wether it be for the face or genital area. Permanent hair removal is achievable on all areas of the face and body. I also specialise in pre-op electrolysis, a service I have provided to NHS England patients for well over 10 years.

Your need for privacy, empathy and respect is my pledge to you, delivered in a safe space, in a tranquil location, on a one to one basis.

Waxing is an option for large or small areas for the complete hair free smooth touch feel for those special occasions. (With the exception of areas being treated with electrolysis.)

Please contact me for Pre-Op electrolysis costs.
